Message from the Executive Director

The Greenwoods Eldercare Society is a non-profit Society governed by a volunteer Board of Directors committed to providing programs and services to elders on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia Canada. The objectives of this society include:

• promoting health and quality of life and respect for elders be they residents of our residential care facility, clients of our community programs or residents in our new Assisted Living building to be completed spring of 2006;
• approaching eldercare within a holistic and interdisciplinary model of care and support that addresses the physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of residents and clients;
• identifying and responding to the needs of elders through program and service development and constantly improving the quality of what we provide through a continuous quality improvement cycle;
• working with partners such as the Vancouver Island Health Authority, B.C. Housing, the Capital Region District and local community partners to ensure that services and programs develop and grow as the need for services and programs expand and become more complex.
